About Me
Yakub Burhan Abdullahi heads the Policy Formulation and Review Unit at Somalia's Federal Ministry of Health & Human Services, and also serves as Head of Innovation at the Mogadishu Institute of Health. A recent Bachelor of Public Health graduate of the Somali National University, he has published widely across infectious disease epidemiology and outbreak preparedness, immunization and maternal-child health, health systems financing and universal health coverage, and the intersection of climate, food security, and health equity across Somalia and the wider region, earning over 200 citations early in his career. He also mentors early-career researchers into publication, and is driven by turning evidence into policy that improves people's lives.
